Peter is responsible for AsiaTech's Ventures' US operations.
AsiaTech Ventures
is a trans-Pacific technology venture fund with offices in Hong
Kong, Palo Alto, Taipei, Singapore and Beijing.
Peter also serves on the board of directors of seeuthere.com,
Ceiva, SupplyEdge, PlanetIntra and
Dynaptics.
Prior to joining AsiaTech Ventures in 1998, Peter co-founded
two companies. He served as the President and Executive Producer
of Channel A, an Internet content and commerce start-up and he was
also a co-founder and Marketing Director at Envive Corporation.
Prior to that, Peter worked at Verity Corporation as Product Manager.
Peter also worked for Oracle Corporation in key management roles
in product marketing and to develop the company's international
business.
Peter holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford
University, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Marc Friend
General Partner, Summit Accelerator Fund
Marc is currently a General Partner at Summit Partners
- a leading private equity venture fund. An experienced venture
investor with many of venture capital experience, Marc joined USVP
in 1994 and became a General Partner in 1998. Throughout that period
Marc led USVP efforts in Enterprise and Internet Software investing.
Marc was instrumental in numerous USVP software investments
including Acta Technology, where he was a Founding Investor;
Check Point Software (NASDAQ: CHKP): Blue Martini Software (NASDAQ:BLUE);
NetDynamics (acquired by Sun Microsystems); Personify; Sagent Technology
(NASDAQ:SGNT); 3dfx Interactive (NASDAQ:TDFX). Marc continues to
serve on the Board of Directors of USVP portfolio companies Acta,
Bigstep.com and Everypath.
Prior to USVP, Marc held product marketing positions in the
software industry at Microsoft and Channel Computing, a venture-backed
software startup. At Microsoft, Marc developed corporate communications
strategies and tools for the Windows 95 product introduction. At
Channel Computing, he managed Data Warehousing software product
lines. Prior to Channel Computing, Marc was a Research Associate
at Charles River Ventures, a leading East Coast venture capital
firm. Marc began his professional career as a Member of the Technical
Staff at The Aerospace Corporation in computer architecture and
image processing.
Marc holds a S.B. and S.M. in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts
Institute of Technology. Marc earned his MBA from Harvard Business
School, with honors.
Prem Uppaluru, Ph.D.

Prem is
leading Telera's
mission to become the foremost Business Communications Applications
Service Provider (ASP), designed for the convergence of the Internet
and telecommunications. A seasoned executive with a proven
track record, Prem has 20 years experience in telecommunications,
network management, multimedia and telephony.
Prior to co-founding Telera, Prem co-founded VOIS Corporation where
he served as CEO. Before launching into his entrepreneurial efforts,
Prem held vice president and general manager positions at Novell.
He also was the vice president of engineering at Fluent and
Samsung Software America. Prem’s career also includes positions
with Bell Labs and Bellcore.
Prem was
awarded a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from
the University of Texas. He also holds a B.Tech from Indian Institute
of Technology, Bombay.
